Where to Stay When Playing We-Ko-Pa on an Arizona Golf Vacation

We-Ko-Pa Golf Club We-Ko-Pa Golf Club got our attention when its fantastic first course, Cholla, opened in 2001. Now, with its new 18-hole, Bill Coore/Ben Crenshaw-designed Saguaro course scheduled to open tomorrow, it’s a must visit on an Arizona golf vacation.

In fact, you can now easily justify choosing a hotel to be closer to this one-two punch in Fort McDowell than in Scottsdale proper, about a half hour away. If you do, consider the CopperWynd Resort and Club in Fountain Hills.

Sitting atop a mountain ridge, we found this seven-year-old, 32-room resort far more intimate than even Scottsdale’s Four Seasons.
